La Lettre Féret — 1 May 2024

Editorial: A red-letter day

Editorial: A sounding board

 A sounding board

A vintage full of (pleasant) surprises, as will be, we imagine, the arrival of the “Lettre Féret” on your screens.
Every quarter, this “Lettre Féret” will offer a wealth of valuable information to wine lovers and professionals, providing updates on châteaux and new vintages as well as analyses and expert opinions.

This “Lettre Féret” will let you meet women and men of the industry and give us the opportunity to tell of your initiatives or narrate a few stories here. For this first issue, Bénédicte Martre, CSR-QHSE & Communication Director at Vignobles de Larose, is invited to look back at the important challenges facing the industry.

Because it coincides with the end of the en primeur tasting campaign, this letter will include, for the first time, the presentation of the ratings for the 2023 vintage. For this major annual event, a panel of recognised experts — made up of Bernard Grandchamp, Étienne Khemtémourian and Gianni Degl’Innocenti — will deliver its ratings for the house of Féret.
A newsletter was also needed to announce the redesign of our website and, we are very proud to say, to tell you at last that we are now working on the publication of a new edition of Bordeaux et ses Vins, the 20th. The road will be long, but it was unthinkable not to give new life to this emblematic flagship of the great Bordeaux publishing house.

As you will have understood, we have not designed yet another communication item of the kind your inboxes are already full of. The “Lettre Féret” means taking on the nobility of the status of a compass; it means imagining that we can create a highly informative publication. It seemed to us that we had every legitimacy to re-emerge before you as a media outlet and a unifying player.
With this Letter, we set ourselves the task of being the voice of the women and men who preserve the region’s rich wine heritage. Happy reading to all.

Faithfully yours,

Henry Clemens
Publication Director

Over the decades, Féret has established its reputation as the undisputed authority in the world of Bordeaux wine, thereby helping to strengthen the image and renown of the wine region.
