In “ Portrait d’Acteurs ”, Agence Fleurie looks back at the careers of Clémence and Luc Planty. She holds an MBA in digital marketing and a hotel management degree; he holds an agronomy engineering degree, to which can be added solid experience as a property manager in the Sauternes area. In 2024, the two intrepid owners took over the reins of Château de Malle!

Malle is all at once a 1855 classified growth, a vineyard occupying a strategic position straddling the Graves and Sauternes appellations, which offer the possibility of diversified production: red wines, white wines and Sauternes, and finally, a heritage site with considerable wine tourism and cultural potential. Above all you tell yourself that it takes a fair dose of madness and carelessness to want to take on the ghosts of a building steeped in 400 years of history!
Clémence and Luc aspire to bring this singular place up to its potential, to make this great terroir a reference in organic farming and this property an unmissable reception venue in the Bordeaux region combining wine, culture and art.
In the vineyard and the cellars, this new lease of life involves the complete restructuring of this 38 ha vineyard. Based on a detailed soil-mapping exercise carried out from the moment they arrived, the vineyard is being entirely rethought: alignments and rootstocks adapted to the terroir and to climate change, with the introduction of exceptional plant material via the resources available within the Bordeaux white grape varieties association, which he chairs. Beyond the organic certification the estate already holds, Luc intends in this way to achieve a form of cultivation perfectly respectful of the terroir.
