Founded in the 16th century and in the same family since 1832, Château Siaurac is the largest estate in Lalande-Pomerol, with 64 hectares in a single block on the extension of the Pomerol plateau.
Of these 64 hectares, 46 hectares are planted and 15 hectares of a remarkable garden…
The vineyards are cultivated using sustainable methods, optimised on the basis of agro-pedological studies. Vinification is carried out on a parcel-by-parcel basis. The facilities were renovated in 2001, 2002 and 2014 (48 temperature-controlled vats for 43 plots).
80% of the grand vin is matured in barrels, 30% of which are new oak.
The young vines produce a “fruit wine” that is easy to drink in its early years: Plaisir de Sauriac, 100% Merlot. It is 100% matured in vats.
Every effort is made to produce authentic wines that express the character of their terroir. The varied soils make it possible to create complementary blends and minimise climatic variations. The gravelly soils give them silky tannins and aromatic richness, the clay soils give them structure, and the sandy-clay soils add power and texture, optimising the impact of the vintages and producing a wine that is luscious, fruity, balanced and sensual, with a black cherry finish.
Great value for money, according to the British wine monthly Decanter.
