Located in the commune of Saint-Émilion, more precisely in the Mazerat cove, on the south-west slope of Saint-Émilion, at the foot of the most prestigious crus, Château Roylland spreads its vines over 5.5 hectares at the foot of the slope, on homogeneous sand-clay land, slightly limestone at the surface.
The grape varieties are 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Successive sortings take place during the harvest. Vinification takes place in concrete and stainless steel vats with an average capacity of 70 hl. Château Roylland is equipped with temperature control, which allows good control of temperatures. Ageing is in stave oak barrels, 40% renewed each year; depending on the vintage, the wine spends 12 to 18 months in them.
