The estate

In brief

Château Pontet-Canet is a Grand Cru Classé of 1855 whose history goes back to the early 18th century. Yet during this long period only three families have succeeded one another there.
For the past ten years, it is Alfred Tesseron who has had the honour and the responsibility of running it, assisted by Jean-Michel Comme, the steward, and since 2005 by his niece, Mélanie Tesseron. He is a kind of conductor who must showcase the work while remaining faithful to it.
To pass on to future generations this magnificent terroir brought out by those who work it, the vineyard is now cultivated like a garden, without any added pesticides and with respect for the rhythms of life and for the people who work there.
Like children who are protected, the vines know an environment of harmony in which they can best express the subtleties of each terroir.
The wine they produce thus reveals all the nuances of nature with precision, purity and truth. The entire vineyard is certified organic and biodynamic.
