The estate

In brief

Daughter and granddaughter of Saint-Emilion winegrowers, Catherine Papon-Nouvel developed a passion for the world of wine very early on. An oenologist by training, in 1989 she acquired Château Peyrou, a small vineyard bordering the Saint-Emilion appellation, in the Côtes de Castillon. The choice of a place, of a terroir, of clay that keeps a certain freshness in the soils during dry spells and where the black Merlot gives its full expression.
Certified organic, the wine of Château Peyrou has a very pretty, deep colour, with a nose of red fruit (raspberry) aromas combined with minty nuances. The structure is ample and full, without heaviness, with fine, well-ripened tannins. The finish is long and balanced with a great deal of freshness.
A wine for pleasure and for laying down, Château Peyrou is one of the unmissable benchmarks of the appellation.
