The Peybonhomme-Les-Tours estate has a long-standing reputation. In the 1868 edition, page 336, Édouard Féret ranked it among the first Crus Bourgeois of Blaye.
It extends, in the heart of the Blaye-Cars-Plassac wine triangle, over hillsides overlooking the Gironde estuary.
The clay-limestone nature of its soil makes it particularly suited to producing wines of great finesse, which rank today as in the past among the foremost wines of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation.
The running of the vineyards is entrusted to the Société Civile des vignobles Bossuet-Hubert, administered by M. and Mme Jean-Luc Hubert, who thus perpetuate the great family tradition.
The entire harvest is sold as château bottling to numerous restaurateurs, wine merchants and foreign buyers.
A small part of the production is sold under the château Le Thil brand.
Catherine and Jean-Luc Hubert cultivate their vineyards with respect for natural balances: herbicides and pesticides are banned, and the vines are ploughed and fed only with elements of natural origin.
Château Peybonhomme-Les-Tours is a member of the association of biodynamic winegrowers.
Since the ruling handed down on 9 April 1996 by the Court of Appeal of Bordeaux, the mention “Cru Bourgeois” has been officially and legally attached to the name of château Peybonhomme-Les-Tours.
