In 1962, this old vineyard, reduced to a few poorly tended old vines, was entirely replanted with great care by the present owner. Since then, this wonderfully exposed vineyard, planted with noble grape varieties, has received the most attentive care and benefits from refined cultivation methods.
The harvest, vinified traditionally, is aged in oak barrels, then bottled and stored in air-conditioned underground cellars admirably suited to ageing.
Thus, through the nature of its stony soil, its excellent grape varieties, and the meticulous care given to vine growing, vinification and the keeping of the wine, Château Lavillotte produces distinguished, elegant and fragrant wines with some vanilla notes, but also rich in tannins that blend in great harmony.
The S.C.E.A. des Domaines Pédro also runs Château le Meynieu, classified Cru Bourgeois du Haut-Médoc in 2003, and Château La Gravière in the Haut-Médoc.
