Château Grimont, built in the 17th century, has been in the Yung family for 3 generations.
Paul and Jean Yung run with seriousness and perseverance this estate, which is among the benchmarks of the appellation. Rewarded in national and international competitions, the family know-how is revealed in the tasting of these wines with unique characters and subtle, complex and delicate aromas. Benefiting from the latest techniques while retaining traditional methods, vinification is rigorous and the vines are grown using sustainable methods.
Château Grimont holds a predominant place in the family estate, which today comprises 132 hectares of vineyards. In 1990, the estate expanded with the acquisition of Château Sissan, a fine 17th-century residence in Camblanes, then in 2003 Château Montjouan in Bouliac (tenant farming).
The different terroirs of the estate allow a diversity of products from the Bordeaux Supérieur, Bordeaux Clairet, Bordeaux Blanc, Bordeaux Rosé and Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux appellations.
Famous figures have stayed at Château Grimont. The animal painter and sculptor Rosa Bonheur developed her passion there during her many visits to her grandfather, Jean-Baptiste Dublan de Lahet. In 1890, Eugène Sue’s brother, Paul Sue, became the owner of Grimont. His son, Gabriel Sue, was also able to indulge his passion for painting. He became a recognised animal painter.
