Château Canset de la Tour

Saint-Émilion Grand Cru • 13 HA

The estate

In brief

Château Canset de La Tour, located in the commune of Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens, was acquired by M. Jacques de la Tour du Fayet in 1967.
Since that date, the owner has carried out painstaking work to restore this cru to a position of prime importance. Indeed, he has replanted the vineyard, which today extends over 12 ha, 9 of them in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation and 3 in Bordeaux.
Thanks to a traditional working method combining love of the land with new techniques (notably a modern cellar equipped with temperature control), M. Jacques de la Tour du Fayet produces a wine of great elegance with good ageing ability.
The blend of grape varieties and the soils typical of the Saint-Émilion area give the wine of Château Canset de la Tour a fleshy nose of red cherries with a hint of vanilla.
This distinctiveness is widely recognised by its private clientele, which has been loyal to it for four decades.
