The Tapon family fell in love with this clos, located between the church of Saint Georges and the pillars of the prestigious Château Saint Georges, which it acquired in 2004.
Located close to the church and wash-house of Saint-Georges, on a high point of the Gironde, Clos du Pavillon Saint-Georges offers a providential terroir of remarkable red clay in perfect harmony with Merlot. Men pass, the land remains. The pride and emotion of working on this terroir remain intact. Beyond the changes, the owners’ duty to preserve this unique and original place, of which they are only the custodians, is stronger than ever. The duty of remembrance will also be exercised in their acts as winegrowers, a true link with those who preceded them.
The wine has a deep ruby colour, its nose expresses very ripe red fruit, with fine, vanilla-scented oak. The charming palate is built on a generous frame that only asks to age.
