Château Guibon is located in the east of the commune of Daignac, in that part of the Entre-deux-Mers that borders the Dordogne on its left bank, 15 km south of Saint-Émilion.
After having been the seat of a parish and belonging to the monks of the abbey of La Sauve, it has been handed down through relatives and allies, within the same family, since the Revolution.
Its origin is very ancient. Significant traces of it are found around 1770 on the Belleyme map. It appears in the edition of Bordeaux et ses vins as early as 1898.
The estate has large buildings typical of this region, surrounded by about 50 hectares of woods and land, 30 of which are farmed as vineyard.
The vineyard includes white and red grape varieties. The former are Sémillon and Sauvignon, the latter Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon; they do very well in the silica-clay soil of the region.
This fine unit is attached to Vignobles André Lurton. The white wines are light, fragrant and fruity. The reds, full-bodied and vigorous, soften as they age.
