Château Tour de Bonnet takes its name from an architectural feature of Château Bonnet. This tower rises above the 18th-century château, offering an incomparable panorama over the whole estate and the rolling landscape around, typical of this region of the Entre-Deux-Mers. It is the work of Léonce Récapet, maternal grandfather of André Lurton, who decided in the 1910s to give the family château a belvedere, despite the unfavourable opinion of the architects consulted. He drew up the plans himself, defying the very laws of architecture by erecting such a structure on rubble walls built with mortar made of kneaded earth. In everyone’s opinion, it would not hold… but a hundred years later, this tower is still there! Château Tour de Bonnet came into being to celebrate the centenary of this structure.
Château Tour de Bonnet comes in three colours. In white, this Entre-Deux-Mers (50% Sauvignon, 40% Sémillon, 10% Muscadelle) is fresh, fruity and floral. It will go perfectly with seafood. The red (50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon), suave and gourmand, of a deep colour, with very melted tannins supporting a long and elegant fruity finish, is a true easy-drinking Bordeaux. The rosé, with floral fragrances and a velvety flesh, refreshed by a just right liveliness on the finish, gives a pleasant persistence on the palate.
