In brief

We’ll take you for a walk around Château Olivier, showing you its history and architecture. You will visit the vat room, where we will explain the winemaking and ageing techniques. You will then head to the ageing cellars, where you will have the great privilege of tasting the white and red wines of the vintage being aged, directly from the barrel. Finally, you’ll taste a Château Olivier White and a Château Olivier Red.

In 30 minutes, during a guided tasting session, you will discover a wine from Château Olivier Blanc, Grand Cru Classé, with its characteristic Graves blend (Sauvignon, Sémillon and Muscadelle): aromatic freshness, fruit, length and fatness on the palate – and a wine from Château Olivier Rouge, Grand Cru Classé, combining the roundness of Merlot with the spicy, tannic side of Cabernet Sauvignon on gravel… A rich, elegant wine.

Includes: – visit to the vat room and ageing cellars – tasting of Château Olivier blanc 2012 and Château Olivier blanc 2017 – tasting of 4 PDO cheeses. Let’s challenge the preconceived notion that only red wines go well with cheese… Then you’ll visit the 18th-century vat room and ageing cellars. Then you can let your imagination run wild and create some amazing pairings between two Château Olivier whites (2012 & 2017) and 4 PDO cheeses selected by ourselves from a local cheese shop.

The tour of Château Olivier is divided into three parts: – The history and architecture of Château Olivier – The vinification and ageing of red and white wines – A commented tasting of a white and a red wine. An explanation of the influence of terroirs on wines will then be given.
