The estate

In brief

The Domaine de La Vieille Église is a 13.25-hectare estate. It owes its name to the neighbouring church of Saint-Hippolyte, whose arcaded bell gable became a tower in 1783. Created in 1970, this growth, whose vineyard overlooks the Dordogne valley, has a prestigious and very ancient origin: the Micheau-Maillou and Palatin families acquired the southern perimeter of the château de Ferrand plateau, which they had been farming since the early 1950s.
The Domaine de La Vieille Église vineyard is located on one of the highest plateaux of the Saint-Émilion region; planted with the traditional grape varieties that made the reputation of Saint-Émilion wines, it produces on average 90,000 bottles. Its full-bodied and powerful wine has a very developed bouquet.
The Micheau-Maillou family also farms château Châtain-Pineau in the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, while Jean-Pierre Palatin farms château Roquevieille (A.O.C. Côtes de Castillon).
