Chante l’Alouette” and “Cormeil” feature prominently in any book on Saint-Émilion vineyards. As far as the family knows, this vineyard has been cultivated since 1818. However, it would be very difficult today to say which parcels were first cultivated. Be that as it may, “Chante l’Alouette” has always rubbed shoulders with the most prestigious crus in the Féret archives. Cormeil on the ancient sands generally produces more delicate wines. The blend of these two terroirs, combined with a judicious choice of grape varieties, enables the Delol family to produce fine, elegant wines. Yves Delol is also the owner of Château Gueyrosse, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru in Libourne. He takes great care with both these wines, which are matured in the Château Gueyrosse cellars.
