This wine estate was put together at the beginning of the century by M. Merlet, between the village and the edge of the Gironde. It was subsequently bought (1971) by the house of Barton et Guestier, which ceded it in 1980 to Dominique Hessel.
The vineyard lies essentially on a rise facing the Gironde, registered in the land register as Tertre, Castillon, Le Moulin de Castillon, Le Breuil, and partly in the commune of Couquèques.
A harmonious blend of grape varieties, old vines and controlled yields make it possible to obtain well-coloured wines of good concentration, fleshy and balanced, offering excellent ageing potential.
The estate was acquired by M. Bernard Magrez in 2004. Much work has been undertaken to enhance the estate and its vineyard.
