Phylloxera having ruined it in 1878 when it was the property of the Baron de Meynard, this vineyard, located on a rise facing the Dordogne valley, was rebuilt with the best traditional grape varieties by the Count de Malet-Roquefort. His descendants sold this estate in 1962 to M. and Mme Jacquet, who invested enormously in it, and since 2012 Anne Néel and Marc Jacquet, members of their family, have been the owners of Château Puy Blanquet.
Since 2007, 5 hectares of Merlot have been replanted, sometimes on plots requiring major earthworks, and the cellar has been modernised by the installation of temperature control.
Anne Néel and Marc Jacquet, with long family and personal winegrowing experience, notably in other appellations of the Bordeaux region and the South, put all their heart into combining tradition and modernity to cultivate the renown of this growth, rightly considered one of the best Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.
