Acquired in 1962 by Roger Bardet and located in the heart of the right bank, south of Saint-Émilion, Château Pontet-Fumet was the family’s second property (see Château Val d’Or in the same commune).
This estate of about fifteen hectares is distinguished by the singular ecosystem of its soil, long managed by Philippe Bardet, whose commitment in this field has never wavered.
Les Vignobles Bardet are indeed a member of the first association for the Environmental Management System of Bordeaux wine, certified AFAQ ISO 14001, which underlines the recognition of the commitment and efforts made by the estate in environmental management.
This internationally recognised certification covers all viticulture, vinification and bottling activities. It also concerns all of Les Vignobles Bardet, which are committed to this approach with the primary aim of reducing their impact on the environment while improving their overall performance and taking account of their pace and means.
The S.C.E.A. des Vignobles Bardet, run by Philippe Bardet, manages all of the following châteaux:
– in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru; in Saint-Laurent-des-Combes, Château Franc-Le-Maine and in the commune of Vignonet, Château du Val d’Or, Château Pontet Fumet and Château du Paradis,
– in Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux; in Gardegan-et-Tourtirac, Château Lideyre and Château Rocher Lideyre, and finally Château Picoron in Sainte-Colombe.
