Château Pontac-Lynch

The estate

In brief

The Pontac-Lynch estate, straddling the two communes of Margaux and Cantenac, is separated from the enclosure of Château Margaux only by the width of a road. The vineyard is bounded to the north and west by the vines of Châteaux Rauzan and Palmer, and to the south by a road that separates it from the vineyard of Château d’Issan.
In 1720, this growth belonged to M. de Pontac; it then became the property of Count Lynch, hence its double name. It is one of the oldest and most esteemed Crus Bourgeois of the Médoc.
Marie-Christine Bondon also runs Château Pontac-Phenix in the A.O.C. Haut-Médoc.
