Jean-Louis Alloin, manager of SNC Château Petit Val, bought Château Petit Val from the Boutet family, who had been present in Saint-Émilion for many years. The estate is located two kilometres north of the commune of Saint-Émilion.
Set on a sandy glacis north of the Cadet butte, its vineyard overlooks the Barbanne valley separating the commune of Saint-Émilion from that of Montagne; planted with selected grape varieties dominated by Merlot, it is distinguished by the presence of Petit Verdot, a rare variety in Saint-Émilion.
Aged in barrels (renewed by a third each year) for a period of about 18 months, the wines of Château Petit Val are elegant, generous, and remarkable for their finesse and particular bouquet.
