This estate of about fifty hectares, run by the Routurier family for several generations, extends on either side of the R.N. 10 in the communes of Marsas and Cubnezais. Only 25 hectares are planted with vines, proving that only the best gravel-clay terroirs were selected to produce quality wines: about 7 hectares, particularly well exposed, form Château Morange A.O.C. Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux.
Certainly, while this vineyard relies on tradition, it also benefits from developments in oenology (Alain Routurier holds the D.N.O. of the Institut de Bordeaux). The owners, who already take care to limit yields, ensure careful vinification and ageing. The wines thus obtained are structured, fine and rich in bouquet. After a few years in bottle they reach a full flowering that makes their reputation.
At all times, the white wines of Château des Nauves and Château Guilhem-Marceau have been appreciated, notably the mellow wines. The dry white Bordeaux, vinified using the latest techniques, is enjoying lively success. Here the terroir suits Sauvignon and Sémillon, which marry very well to give a balanced, fine and fresh wine without aggressiveness or sharpness.
The property, a signatory of the Vignobles et Chais en Bordelais charter, welcomes visitors.
