Christian Dauriac, owner of Château Destieux, has a passion for perfection. But because he has a passion for wine, a new winery has been built, and there’s no doubt that Montlisse is now a beautiful little estate that will leave more than one wine-lover dreaming. The Gironde-style building, vat room and ageing cellar are just like the vines, where nothing is left to chance. The wine is as charming as the site itself, and well worth a visit.
Château Montlisse is located at the highest point of the Saint Emilion appellation.
Situated on the eastern slopes of Saint-Emilion, in a superb amphitheatre whose south-south-western slope it occupies, the Montlisse vineyard was acquired in 1984 by the Dauriac family.
A Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Montlisse was spotted by Christian Dauriac for its rounded, south-facing configuration on steep slopes that allow water to run off naturally.
Château Montlisse meets the most demanding criteria of the Saint Emilion appellation: quality, regularity and consistency.
The spirit of Montlisse is one of intimate production, with an emphasis on quality and remarkable work from the vine to the cellar.
Nothing is left to chance, and the wine is carefully matured in an attractive, fully air-conditioned barrel cellar.
The wine of Château Montlisse, generous and charming, has found its place among the Grands Crus Classés of Saint-Emilion in the 2022 classification of the Grands Crus Classés of Saint Emilion.
