Château Malmaison Baronne Nadine de Rothschild

Moulis-en-Médoc • 33 HA

The estate

In brief

Adjoining Château Clarke, the 33 hectares of Château Malmaison were bought in 1973 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild.
This vineyard, in the Moulis appellation contrôlée, was replanted between 1974 and 1978.
The particular terroir of this vineyard and the blend based on Merlot Noir give typical wines that are mellow, harmonious, fruity and rich in bouquet. Ageing in new barrels and in light-toast barrels gives them the elegance, finesse and suppleness that make a feminine wine worthy of Baroness Nadine de Rothschild.
This estate, administered by the Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild, forms, with Château Clarke and Château Peyre-Lebade, one of the finest wine-growing ensembles of the Médoc: 190 hectares, 144 of them under vine.
