Château Maison Blanche, Cru Bourgeois 1932, belongs to the Bouey family, originally from the Médoc, owners in Cussac at the beginning of the century and in the service of Bordeaux wine for three generations.
Starting from the principle that wine is first and foremost grapes, constant effort is devoted to improving the vineyard, both in terms of quality and in terms of the environment, through sustainable farming practices. One of the particularities of the Maison Blanche vineyard is that it is predominantly Merlot. This choice of grape varieties, unusual in the Médoc, produces softer, silkier wines.
For making and ageing the wines, the château has a large, modern and well-equipped vat room and a magnificent barrel cellar where the wines age for many months in oak casks of different origins.
The wines of Maison Blanche are deeply coloured and fleshy while retaining great finesse and considerable elegance. The aromas of well-ripened red fruit blend pleasantly with oaky and spicy notes.
The Bouey family runs Château Lestruelle, in the neighbouring commune of Saint-Yzans, with the same talent.
Distributed exclusively for export for several years, Château Maison Blanche is now also sold on the French market.
