The origin of the name Lideyre seems to go back to the 15th century. In 1458, Bérard de Grailly, lord of Lestanc, granted in fief to Arnaud de Lidoyre the mayne of Leymarie at Gardegan. In 1521, mention is found of the village of Lidoire at Tourtirac in an acknowledgement in favour of Bérard de Ségur.
The farm of Lideyre belonged to the Gardegan notary Daniel _x0002_Battutmarin in the 1840s. At his succession, the whole comprised farmers’ houses, vat room, barrel cellar, land and vines, with an approximate area of 35 hectares. Given the difference in area, it would therefore seem that Château Lideyre was part of a group that also included Château Rocher Lideyre.
Philippe Bardet bought this estate in 1979. It is distributed exclusively by the Éts J.-B. Audy.
The S.C.E.A. des Vignobles Bardet, run by Philippe Bardet, manages all the châteaux belonging to his family:
