Since 1906, four generations have succeeded one another at Château Le Bourdillot, whose house and land date back at least to 1818, as attested by a plan of that time.
In 1958, Louis Haverlan, father of Patrice Haverlan, the current owner, found in one of his vineyards a vine stock in the shape of Christ. Fixed on a cross and installed in the cellars, it was blessed by Monseigneur Roy, Bishop of Rhodesia, during the Easter ceremony of 1959. This “little Jesus of Lucques” is today an object of curiosity on the estate.
Among the investments recently made, we may mention the conversion of old stables into cellars with vat rooms, the air-conditioning of the cellars, the temperature control of the vats and the purchase of a reverse osmosis unit.
Château Le Bourdillot and the cuvées “Tentation” and “Séduction” regularly win gold medals at the wine competitions of Paris, Bordeaux, Mâcon, Brussels…
