A Graves Cru Classé in red and white since 1953, Château Latour-Martillac owes its name to the tower that adorns its main courtyard, a vestige of a fort built in Martillac in the 12th century by the ancestors of the famous philosopher and winegrower Montesquieu. Situated on an exceptional Pyrenean gravel hillside, this estate attracted the attention of Edouard Kressmann, a Bordeaux wine merchant since 1871, particularly for the quality of its white wines. His eldest son, Alfred, bought the estate in 1930. Together with his son Jean, he designed the current gold and sand label, which has adorned the bottles since 1934. Today, Tristan and Loïc Kressmann continue the family tradition of favouring quality over yield on this authentic gravel terroir. With their elegant structure and harmony, the red and white wines of Latour-Martillac are recognised as the best in the Pessac-Léognan appellation.
