In 1707, the map by Claude Masse, geographer to King Louis XIV, confirms the existence of an old vineyard at that time.
Listed as a wine property in 1881, Château Landat was already considered a Cru Bourgeois in 1908 owing to the quality of its wines.
In 1976, it was bought by the Fabre family, already owners of Château Lamothe-Cissac and renowned for their professionalism and rigour in the Bordeaux wine world. They bring the same attention to vine growing, vinification and ageing as in their other estates (including Château La Tonnelle since 1982). Domaines Fabre also run Château Lamothe Cissac in the commune of Cissac-Médoc and La Tonnelle in the same commune, as well as Château Bellevue de Tayac in the Margaux AOC.
Today, the Château Landat vineyard, following successive purchases, covers an area of 14 hectares and offers structured wines with fine, complex aromas.
