Located one kilometre from the village of Saint-Émilion, in the very heart of the commune’s noble land, Château La Rose-Pourret has been run by the same family for over a hundred years now. M. and Mme Noël enlarged the château’s vineyard and, through careful vinification faithful to the traditions of the region, made Château La Rose-Pourret a renowned and appreciated cru.
Their heirs perpetuate the family tradition on this 8-hectare property.
The nature of its silica-clay soil over alios (or iron residues), the combination of different grape varieties, Merlot, Bouchet and Cabernet, the preservation of old vines and limited yields all contribute to a harmonious whole.
Vinification and ageing of the wine take place over 18 months in new barrels of stave oak and receive the same attentive care. Bottling is carried out exclusively at the château. All this attention, together with a pursuit of quality that takes precedence over quantity, contributes to the production of a wine of great finesse and a highly developed bouquet.
A large clientele, from all backgrounds, appreciates Château La Rose-Pourret, finding in this cru the quality of the great Saint-Émilions.
