The château La Fleur vineyard is located on one of the northern hillsides of the commune of Saint-Émilion. It produces a wine which, owing to the diversity of the subsoils that make it up: clay-limestone, silica-clay, stands out for its velvetiness, colour and bouquet.
Known in the Féret (1898 edition) under the name Cru Mérissac, this château then belonged to the heirs of Mathieu Garitey. Since 1922, the Lacoste family became owner of this growth. It was this family that changed its name, from Domaine de Mérissac (1922) to château La Fleur Mérissac (1929), finally becoming château La Fleur (Féret 1949).
In 2002, Dassault Wine Estates acquired its nearest neighbour.
Methods of excellence were then put in place to allow this marvellous terroir to express its true worth and thus raise this growth among the best of the Saint-Émilion grands crus.
