In the heart of the prestigious Bordeaux vineyards, benefiting from a terroir of great quality, château La Dominique stretches over 30 hectares at the north-western limit of the Saint-Émilion appellation. This fine property, which entered the Fayat family’s estate in 1969, has its origins under the name La Dominique in the 18th century. One of the most renowned Grands Crus Classés, the estate is experiencing a renewal with the building of a cellar designed by Jean Nouvel, an internationally renowned architect: a work of boldly contemporary aesthetics that houses an elegant and modern vat room. A high-precision tool intended to reveal even more of the quality and finesse of the wines of La Dominique. With a constant concern for balance between performance and environmental preservation, the château La Dominique vineyard receives every attention. Each plot is monitored precisely, and its specificities are taken into account in carrying out all the work through the seasons. For several years, the vineyard has been worked according to the principles of sustainable farming. The new cellar, inaugurated with the 2013 vintage harvest, brings together a set of tools chosen for their technical performance. The aim remains the pursuit of excellence in making wines for long ageing, with respect for tradition.
With patience and passion, guided by know-how acquired over time, the Fayat family is committed to giving La Dominique a resolutely contemporary dimension.
