The name of this château comes from the combination of two place names: Guillemin and La Gaffelière.
Built up from 1956, this estate practises very traditional cultivation: ploughing of the soil (with no chemical weedkillers), hand harvesting with sorting…
Vinification with long maceration (4 to 8 weeks) is carried out in small-capacity vats with total immersion of the pomace. But the most modern winemaking techniques are also used: reverse osmosis and micro-bubbling.
This care and these methods of production, together with traditional barrel ageing, guarantee the production all its typicity. These very deeply coloured, tannic, rich, complex and well-balanced wines have a very great ability to age.
