The estate

In brief

The first château one finds on the way into the Médoc (between Blanquefort and Le Taillan) is “château du Taillan – La Dame Blanche”, 12 km from Bordeaux.
It is one of the finest properties in the region. The façades of the house, which date from the end of the 18th century, the altarpiece at the end of the terrace, the very distinctive old vat room with its double vaults and its barrels in the basement, all these monuments are either listed or registered as historic monuments.
The 150-hectare estate includes 30 hectares of red vines (château du Taillan) and 2 hectares of white vines (château La Dame Blanche, see below).
Its clay-limestone soils have produced winners, both in equestrian competitions and on the tables of the best restaurants.
Having become the property of the Cruse family in 1896, it has remained ever since within this illustrious family of the wine world and now belongs to the 5 daughters of M. Henri Cruse.
Its wine, with its suppleness and the distinction of its bouquet, makes a much sought-after bottle.
Bottling is carried out exclusively at the château.
