Located on the gravel rises of the commune, most of the plots of Château Domeyne face those of Canon-Ségur. The very high-quality soils consist of deep, relatively clayey gravel over a clay-limestone bedrock.
Since the 1985 vintage the estate has also produced Château Haut Vignoble du Parc, whose Haut-Médoc plot is located in the commune of Vertheuil on a mainly clay-limestone soil.
At the start of 2007, Claire and Gonzague Lurton bought the property from the Franchini family in order to raise it to the level of the flagships of the Saint-Estèphe appellation.
