Pierre de Marsan was a descendant of the Vicomtes de Marsan, founders of the town of Mont-de-Marsan in the Landes. In 1630 he married a wealthy heiress whose dowry was a substantial property at Lestiac. Wine production on this estate began in the 17th century.
The Gonfrier family bought this property in 1962 and has extended the vineyard over the years. Château de Marsan is the company’s reference estate.
