The estate

In brief

Château Chevrol Bel Air is located in the commune of Néac, 6 km from Libourne, in the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation area. Jean Pradier acquired it in 1946 and most of its vines were replanted just after the frosts of 1956, and as a result the average age of the vineyard exceeds 40 years.
The varied soils, sometimes gravelly, sometimes silica-clay with a gravel subsoil and iron residues, give this wine a particular character. In addition, Cabernet Franc gives Chevrol Bel Air finesse and longevity, as well as great consistency in quality with, each year, different nuances and tastes that make the charm of vintage wines, while Merlot contributes fruitiness and suppleness.
In 1985, the Pradier family acquired the Mont du Pressoir estate in the commune of Petit-Palais-et-Cornemps, which produces a red Bordeaux Supérieur for long keeping, heady and tannic, as well as a red Bordeaux from the same terroir.
In 2007, the purchase of plots in Montagne Saint-Émilion made possible the creation of L’Automnale, whose first vintage was a clear success with consumers, which led to the extension of this vineyard to 6 hectares.
Chevrol Bel Air, Mont du Pressoir and L’Automnale are vinified, aged and bottled at the estate. They are sold either directly from the cellars in Néac (visits by appointment) or by mail order with weekly shipments.
Currently, it is Vincent Pradier, the third generation, who ensures the continuity of the vineyard.
