The d’Arfeuille family, settled for many decades in the Libourne area, acquired château Chante Alouette in 1995.
Benoît, son of Guy d’Arfeuille, has managed the estate since that date. Strengthening the size of the property, attentive to every detail from viticulture to oenology, he has made it one of the reference growths of the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation.
Château Chante Alouette, in the heart of the vineyard, a few hundred metres from several Premiers Grands Crus Classés of Saint-Émilion, has a sandy soil with veins of clay. The wines are true to their terroir, balanced, not over-extracted, with red fruit aromas, good length and assured keeping capacity.
For about ten years, critics and tasters have regularly singled out château Chante-Alouette at tastings. La Fleur d’Alouette, its second wine, is supple, with charm and elegance.
