The vineyard, a family property since 1914, is located in the heart of the appellation on a sandy soil, gravelly on some plots, with an undersoil of iron residues and green clay. Its area is 13 hectares, and the average age of the vines is 35 years.
Cultivation is entirely traditional with the practice of ploughing, and the harvest is done by hand only. Vinifications are carried out in concrete vats, and fermentations are temperature-controlled, lasting about 21 days. The entire volume of wine is aged in barrels for 18 months before bottling.
A tasting is used to select the second wine, which bears the label Château l’Ermitage de Bel-Air.
Sales are made through the Place trade, Libourne and Bordeaux, with nevertheless direct sales at the property. The same applies to Château Beauséjour in the Fronsac appellation.
