Owned by Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard since September 2000, Château Barde-Haut is an estate of 17.5 hectares whose vineyard forms an amphitheatre overlooking the Dordogne valley.
Facing due south, this exceptional Saint-Émilion terroir consists essentially of a thin layer of clay over an outcropping limestone bedrock.
The cellars were rebuilt to High Environmental Quality standards. The buildings are thermally regulated by green roofs, geothermal heat exchangers, heat pumps and a wind turbine. Everything has been done to limit their impact on the environment.
This meeting of an exceptional terroir with wine-growing and winemaking techniques combining tradition, respect for the environment and modernity has led Château Barde-Haut to be described as one of the rising stars of the Saint-Émilion Grands Crus Classés.
The Garcin vineyards also own Château Branon, Château Haut-Bergey in Pessac-Léognan and Clos l’Eglise in Pomerol.
