Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux

About

Created in 1973, the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux is an association of 133 Grands Crus that share the same high standards of quality and come from only the most noble appellations of the Gironde: Médoc, Haut-Médoc, Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac, Saint-Julien, Moulis, Listrac, Graves, Pessac-Léognan, Sauternes, Barsac, Saint-Émilion, and Pomerol. Each of these properties has a long history linked to the particular and intimate qualities of its terroir, revealed by passionate men and women.

As wise owners, the members of the Union des Grands Crus know that producing a great wine goes hand in hand with the pleasure of sharing and making known this thousand-year-old culture. Tireless travellers who cover an average of 100,000 kilometres a year, the managers of these estates travel all over the world to present their recent vintages personally and collectively to the press, to international distribution managers and to great wine lovers. The action of the Union des Grands Crus has been particularly important in recent years in introducing new consumers in distant markets to wine tasting!

At the heart of its 80 annual international actions, Europe, but also France, has a predominant place. Thus, following the famous Semaine des Primeurs organised for professionals at the beginning of April by the Union, the Week-End des Grands Crus in May allows more than 2000 passionate international wine lovers to share two exceptional days with the great Bordeaux châteaux and their owners.
