This very old vineyard has always been known as one of the best in the commune of Lalande-de-Pomerol.
Located on a gravel rise similar to that of Pomerol, whose church spire rises 2,300 metres to the south, this estate of about 12 hectares is planted with the traditional grape varieties, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, in proportions that give the wine roundness, bouquet and finesse.
The care given to the vineyard, and pruning that sacrifices the notion of yield to quality, would not be enough if, before being picked, the grapes were not brought to full ripeness and then vinified, combining ancestral methods with the advances of modern oenology, in a vat room perfectly suited to producing a quality wine.
Thus, this combination of soil, choice of grape varieties and vinification, enhanced by the various atmospheric conditions of each year, enables Château Bourseau to present a pleasing range of quality products, which earn it not only awards (Paris, Bordeaux, Bratislava, Ljubljana) but also, and above all, appreciation beyond the borders in many foreign countries.
