Château Belair-Coubet

The estate

In brief

A family property for five generations, château Belair-Coubet overlooks the Gironde estuary.
The vineyard, located on a gently sloping plateau flooded with sunshine thanks to its southern exposure and looking out over the vast and picturesque Gironde estuary, covers an area of 39.5 hectares in a single block.
The sixth generation is represented by Monsieur Faure’s two daughters. Delphine and Agnès have worked on the property for twenty years, holding different but complementary roles, in order to perpetuate the family know-how and spirit.
The means employed: planting and choice grape varieties, sustainable pest management for ten years, respect for the terroir through soil work, deliberately limited production, current oenological innovations (automatic pumping over, temperature control…), renovation of the cellars, will make it possible to produce generous, fine, charming and elegant wines.
During barrel ageing, tastings are carried out in order to find, for each vintage, the optimal balance between fruit and oak.
Quality is our priority, and to control it, every bottling is carried out at the estate.
Sales are mainly aimed at a loyal and growing private clientele, at restaurants and at export all over the world, who appreciate its various qualities.
In 1995, the acquisition of château Fontarabie on the excellent terroir of Pugnac, in Premières Côtes de Blaye, completed and diversified the holdings of the Misses Faure.
