Located in the heart of Libourne, the singularity of Château Quinault L’Enclos is that it is a town vineyard, whose origins go back to Gallo-Roman times.
This 20-hectare estate, close to the Dordogne, benefits from a microclimate favourable to growing vines, early and warm, which allows it to reach optimal ripeness every year.
The estate is entirely managed by the teams of Château Cheval Blanc, with the declared intention of making a great wine, in direct line with its elder: precision viticulture, a fresh vision of ripeness, vinification with gentle and moderate extraction, and ageing in which the oak must remain in the background and highlight the complexity and length naturally given by its gravel terroirs.
The team’s efforts have borne fruit and enabled the vineyard to attain in 2012 the distinction of “grand cru classé” of Saint-Emilion.
