Located on the former island of Jau (island of Jupiter), château Saint-Aubin now stands on the site of a very old 13th-century complex. Towards the end of the 18th century, it was a horse-training school, hence the original façade of its cellars, which replaced the old riding arena.
In 1850 Charles Cocks noted this growth as belonging to Messrs Coiffard and Princeteau, and it then produced 40 barrels. In 1874, Édouard Féret, in the Statistiques de la Gironde, noted that château Saint-Aubin produced 400 hectolitres of wheat and 50 barrels of red wine. He also regarded it as the only Cru Bourgeois of its commune. Its wine-growing vocation has never ceased.
In the same family for five generations, the property is experiencing a new surge.
Château Saint-Aubin is a wine with harmonious, supple and fine tannins and fairly low acidity, pleasant to drink in its youth but with good ageing potential.
