The vineyard of Château Marquis-d’Alesme is one of the first three created in the Margaux region, in 1585, by the Marquis d’Alesme, related to the Raymond de La Roque family, squire of Budos, lord of Tastes and La Tour, who died on 21 April 1594. His widow, Jehanne d’Alesme, took the title of Lady of Tastes.
The Marquis d’Alesme was one of the promoters of the creation of the Médoc vineyards; his cru was registered in 1616.
The old residence was enlarged and restored in 1859, and visitors can admire the Louis XIII-style château, located in the centre of the commune of Margaux, together with its magnificent park, which forms a very fine ensemble with that of Château Margaux.
The purchase of Château Marquis d’Alesme in 2006 by Hubert Perrodo gave this estate a new lease of life. Since then, Nathalie, Hubert’s daughter, with modernity, an international knowledge of the markets and a spirit of conquest, leads her teams to help her crus grow.
