The estate

In brief

Château Devise d’Ardilley was created in 1991. The estate was bought in 2000 by Madeleine and Jacques Philippe, who were realising a dream: she, being of Bordeaux origin, was rediscovering her roots, and he, an engineer by training, after a career in a large services group, wished to become a winegrower. The dream has become reality….
The vineyard, made up of plots gradually brought together, reaches an area of 11 ha, of which 10 ha are in production on a gravel and clay-limestone terroir.
The vinification and ageing cellars are modern. The temperature-controlled stainless steel vat room (air condensation), with a capacity of 1034 hl spread across 11 vats of 19 to 150 hl, allows precise vinification according to grape variety and plot. Concentration techniques (reverse osmosis) and micro-oxygenation are used where appropriate.
The barrel cellar, with a surface area of 210 m2, holds 125 barrels laid flat.
Run with passion and determination, Château Devise d’Ardilley, promoted to Cru Bourgeois in 2003, won the Crus Bourgeois cup in 2011.
