Alain Blasquez inherited this property from his mother, Madame Blasquez née Sauts. The Sauts family have been winegrowers in Listrac since about 1850, as the first edition of the “Féret” attests. At that time Monsieur Sauts, known as “Nochon”, produced 12 to 15 barrels (110 to 140 hl) in the village of “Try”. The generations followed one another until the terrible war years, and “Baudan” went into a 50-year eclipse.
Whatever the time, the terroir endures. For 20 years, Alain and Sylvie Blasquez have been taking up the challenge of reviving the renowned gravel of Baudan. Through successive purchases, this growth now covers an area of more than 7 hectares. One watchword guides its owner and operator: Quality.
Few people have yet had the advantage of tasting this growth, vinified and aged in the traditional way. It is promising, and in any case worth discovering.
