Under the Brush of Élise Disclyn

A watercolourist, Élise Disclyn specialises in creating bespoke maps and illustrations for wine properties, combining artistic precision and the showcasing of heritage.

Château Cantemerle (Haut-Médoc), which has placed its trust in me once again, commissioned me to create a watercolour plot map to accompany tastings.

The challenge was to make legible the diversity of the grape varieties and their position within the property, in order to explain the plot selection that goes into the blends.

The Château’s vast park and the architectural richness of the recently inaugurated buildings also find their place in this representation, bearing witness to Cantemerle’s renewal and its commitment to biodiversity.

In consultation with the Château’s teams, we opted for an A5 format, printed on fine textured paper, soft to the touch and with intense colours.

The plot map thus becomes a communication tool that is both technical and aesthetic, but also an object of memory and emotion.

It accompanies the tasting and becomes a keepsake of the property that clients and prescribers can keep.

A bespoke creation designed to convey with finesse and precision the identity of a property, its terroir and its history.
