Since 1775, nine generations of the Saby family have succeeded one another to date on these wine-growing terroirs of the Libournais, where the famous wines of Pomerol, Saint-Émilion and Fronsac reign. Today Jean-Bernard Saby, as a worthy successor, has revitalised the various family properties located in the Saint-Émilion and Fronsac areas (Châteaux Rozier and Haut-La-Grâce-Dieu in Saint-Émilion, Château Hauchat-la-Rose in Fronsac and Château Saint-André-Corbin in Saint-Georges).
Together they represent 60 hectares of noble vines, or on average 400,000 bottles of quality wine.
Château Rozier, under the impetus of its owner Jean-Bernard Saby, owes its renown not only to the judicious choice of grape varieties suited to the different terroirs: black Merlot on clay-limestone hillsides and deep sands, and Cabernets on the warmer sand-gravel soil, but also and above all to the attentive care in vinification and ageing lavished by his two sons, Jean-Christophe and Jean-Philippe, both qualified oenologists. The large vat room and the ageing cellars of 450 barrels allow vinification and ageing in the best conditions.
